Collaboration projects of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova and the World Bank Group discussed in Marrakech

     On the occasion of its participation in the 13th Annual Conference of the International Competition Network, which was held from April 22 to 25, 2014, at Marrakech, Morocco, Mrs. Viorica CARARE, President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova had a meeting with Mr. Pierre GUISLAIN Director, Investment Climate Department of the World Bank Group.

     During the meeting were discussed various aspects of cooperation, in particular with regard to the implementation of projects supported by the World Bank as well as new opportunities to expand the assistance provided by the World Bank on competition.

     We remind that the Competition Council is about to be one of the recipients of assistance under the World Bank Project Competitiveness Enhancement II.

     The purpose of assistance which is about to be provided under this project is to support the Competition Council in achieving its core, which is to ensure and improve healthy competitive environment, guaranteeing free entrepreneurial activity and to strengthen the Council's ability to perform their tasks optimally, and thus reduce the possibility of disturbance of the productive potential  by anti-competitive practices.
