The cooperation between competition authorities of Moldova and Romania are appreciated on international level

     The collaboration of competition authorities of Moldova and Romania was welcomed by Victor PONTA, Prime Minister of Romania, the Conference concerning The Romanian Competition Council’s Annual Activity Report for 2013, to which was invited Mrs. Viorica CARARE, President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova.

     At the conference Mrs. CARARE, spoke about the experience of the Republic of Moldova in the implementation of legal provisions on competition and state aid, and gave two presentations: Implementation of State Aid Legislation in the Republic of Moldova and The Cooperation of the  Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova with Regulatory Authorities, citing the problem of excessive regulation of emerging markets and the necessity of  their liberalization and de-monopolization.

     In this respect, the Romanian Prime Minister stressed the importance of consolidation and of effective collaborative relationships with Moldova, in order to align the national legal framework of Moldova to the Communautaire Acquis. „I think all that Romania teaches on European level in  this period may be forwarded to modernize the institutions of the Republic of Moldova in preparation for accession to the European Union standards and structures „ he said.

     The strength of  the bilateral relations of competition authorities of Romania and Moldova was supported by Mr. Frederic Jenny, President of Competition Committee, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

     Conference held on April 8, 2014, in Bucharest and brought together high-level representatives of the public administration of Romania, of OECD Competition Committee and of the General Directorate for State Aid of the European Commission.
